Ever since I watched The Devils Wears Prada, as a little girl back in 2006, I was longing for the days I get to experience Winter Fashion. This desire grew stronger with the start of Gossip Girl. Seeing Blair strutting through the street of Manhattan in all her fabulous coats, tights and scarfs, filled my heart with joy. As a Caribbean princess, winter fashion is something I only see on tv and it felt so far away. But everything changed once I moved to the Netherlands, now I am killing it in winter fashion. I master the art of layering, colour blocking and combining patterns. I have a variety of coats, scarfs and tights. And getting dressed in the morning is so much fun, if it is not below 0°C, as I can wear one of my many wool (blend) coats with a well thought out ensemble underneath.
I often have an idea of what I am going to wear in my head before I go to bed and that includes the coat and scarf want to wear with it. I rarely pick out my outfit before going to bed, I often do it in the morning, while I am drinking my first cup of tea before I shower. If you want to save time, I would suggest doing this the night before, iron and steam all that most be ironed and steamed the night before.
The Look
Now to what I am wearing...
I am wearing a Navy Blue Pea Coat I found 3 years ago in a vintage store and that I revamped. A Bow Neck Blouse in White, a Double-breasted Navy Blazer, Black Pants, Nude Stilletos and my vintage Burberry bag.
